Debra Sue Miears

Oct 4, 1954 — Oct 31, 2026

Debra Sue Miears was born on 10-4-54 to Dixie Geneva Pinson and Billy Frank Miears and left this world on 10-31-26. A celebration of life will be held November 7th, 2026 at Beaty Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dixie; father, Billy Frank; stepfather, Billy Wayne Todd; Uncle Mickey Pinson, who affectionately called her Doodle Bug; Uncle Mikey Morris; Uncle Freddy Todd; and Aunt Glynnis Herren.

She leaves behind a sister, Stephanie, and her husband, Chad Hankins; the greatest light of her life, Briar Hankins; and his wife, Andrea, who will welcome a new light in January, Alaina Hankins. Aunts Carolyn and her husband, David Carr; Aunt Kathy and her husband, Charles Swann; Aunt Zanna Morris; Beverly Pinson; and Patricia Todd. Uncle Cecil and his wife, Jeanette Pinson, and numerous cousins and kin. She will be greatly missed, and words cannot begin to say all that she is and has accomplished.

After graduating from Winnsboro High School, she earned her Master's from the University of Texas and began her Doctorate. She then worked at the FBI and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations and retired from Wood County Adult Supervision as Chief. She was an integral member of the Quitman Rotary Club, the Winnsboro Rotary Club, where she received the Paul Harris Fellow, the Winnsboro Education Foundation, and the Winnsboro All School Reunion Committee

She was always up for an adventure. Loved being on the go. She traveled to countries in Europe as well as Australia and Thailand and was an extra in the movie Logan's Run. She kayaked in the Boundary Waters, played at the Dry Tortugas, and hiked in the Colorado mountains. She loved going on adventures with her sister, including horror conventions and haunted places.

Her greatest achievements were being Sissy to her nephew, Sissy Mommy to her sister, and a friend to many. She touched so many lives that the words to describe it would go on and on, and she was not like that.

God told us to go and represent him in the world, and she did exactly as he asked. Her servant's heart was huge, along with the desire to help the needy. She was an expert at kindness, loving, giving, and listening, and she will be greatly missed. Donations can be made to the Winnsboro Education Foundation, which was near and dear to her heart.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23.
