Debra Rhoades, beloved mother, grandmother, departed this life on April 2, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and joy. Born on February 23, 1952, to the late Edwin and Mary Castleberry, Debra's life was a testament to strength, kindness, and resilience.


In her journey through life, Debra faced both joy and sorrow. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gary Rhoades, as well as her brothers Alton Castleberry and Claude Castleberry, and her sister Joyce Lentz. Despite these losses, Debra's spirit remained unwavering, her heart ever filled with love for her family and friends.


She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Debra's faith was a guiding light in her life. She found solace and community within the walls of her church, where she forged lasting friendships and shared in the joy of worship.


Those who knew Debra best will fondly remember her as a Professional shopper. With an eye for bargains and a knack for finding the best deals, she approached every shopping trip with enthusiasm and determination. To Debra, any deal was a good deal, and she took great delight in sharing her finds with those she loved.


Debra leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be cherished by all who knew her. She is survived by her son John Rhoades and wife Nita, her daughters Melanie Martin and husband Robert, and Dusty Rhoades and husband Jason Strange. She is also survived by her grandchildren Tyler Rhoades, Brennan Rhoades, Garrett Rhoades, Gregory Burleson, Marshall Burleson, Tori Martin, and Tobi Torres, as well as 15 great-grandchildren.


As we mourn the loss of Debra Rhoades, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the profound impact she had on all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing, and may we find comfort in the love and cherished memories she leaves behind.
