On May 6, 2026, Debra Jean Rouse, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and dedicated nurse, passed away peacefully at the age of 67 in Tyler, Texas. Born on December 1, 1958, in Dallas, Texas, Debbie lived her life with unwavering love for her family and a profound commitment to caring for others.
Debbie graduated from Winnsboro High School in 1977. She later earned an Associate's Degree from Tyler Junior College in 1979 and became an RN through the Texas Eastern School of Nursing. She embarked on a remarkable 31-year career as a registered nurse, gracefully touching the lives of countless patients across the East Texas area. Her compassion and dedication to her work were evident in the way she nurtured those in her care, embodying the true spirit of a healer. She specialized in cardiovascular health working in the CICU for East Texas Medical Center. Later in her career, she became an administrator for the cardiovascular unit at Segal Heart Center, guiding families through trying times.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband of forty-seven years, William Rouse; her sons, Kristofer Rouse, Cody Rouse and John David Rouse; her sisters, Robin Boyd Cherry along with James, Krystal Boyd Cook and husband David, and Shannon Boyd Hyser and husband Mike; and her cherished grandchildren, Aubri Rouse and Levi Rouse. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion that will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of Debbie's life will take place on May 11, 2026, beginning with visitation at 1:00 PM at the Beaty Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro, Texas, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. A graveside service will conclude the day at Smyrna Cemetery at approximately 3:00 PM, where Debbie will be laid to rest.
As we gather to honor and remember Debbie, let us celebrate her remarkable spirit, her nurturing heart, and the many lives she touched throughout her journey. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Boyd, and mother, Georgia Ann Boyd.
