Dennis Don Arnold

Dennis Don Arnold was born July 8, 1933 and left his earthly body June 30, 2024 just shy of his 91st birthday. Dennis was born in Carthage, TX to George Arnold and Edna Mae Hillin Arnold. He graduated from Henderson High School in 1951 and remained active in the Henderson Alumni until recently. After high school he attended North Texas State, West Texas State and Stephen F Austin before joining the army in 1953 where he served until his honorable discharge in Fort Sill Oklahoma in 1955. In 1956 he went to work at Sun Oil Company where he was a Geology Staff Associate. He retired from Sun Oil in 1988. He was a 32nd degree Mason becoming a member in 1963 and was a member of several lodges as his job with Sun Oil moved him around. He was a Mason for more than 50 years. Upon retirement he and his wife Sarah Farr Arnold moved to Holly Lake Ranch, TX where he was on the Volunteer Fire Department and served as Fire Chief from 1993-1995. Dennis and Sarah never missed Trade Days at Canton where they bought and sold antiques. They enjoyed traveling and had many memorable trips with family and friends. Dennis was an avid gardener and always had a beautiful yard. He loved a great round of golf playing courses all over the United States. Sarah proceeded him in death May 7, 2007. In March of 2009 Dennis got another chance at love, marrying Carolyn Crush Arnold. Dennis and Carolyn enjoyed traveling as well as time with her children and grandchildren when they had the chance. Carolyn proceeded him in death September 23, 2016. Growing up Dennis’s best friend was his brother, Charles Arnold, Charlie proceeded him in death February 15, 2016. Dennis had a great life full of fun and friends.

Dennis is survived by his bonus children, Don and Shawn Kennedy, his brother in law, Charles Rice as well as several step grandchildren and several friends. He was proceeded in death by his parents, George and Edna Mae Arnold, His wife of 46 years, Sarah Arnold, his wife of 8 years, Carolyn Arnold, his brother, Charlie Arnold and his wife, Lovella and his step father W.A. Rhodes.
