Dewey Dewayne Mead

Mr. Dewey Dewayne Mead, age 70 of Quitman, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at his home. Dewayne was born in Pickton on September 13, 1942 to the late Cecil and Maud Brumley Mead. He worked as a industrial machinist for USI Packaging in Tyler, a veteran of the U.S. Army, was a mason with the Flora Lodge in Quitman, and a member of the Winterfield Baptist Church in Pickton. He wed the former Betty Harris in Hopkins County on May 26, 1967. He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Lawrence and Pat Mead. He is survived by his loving wife of more than 45 years, Betty Mead of Quitman; son, Randal Mead of Quitman; daughter, Delaine Jackson of Forney; brother, Gene Mead of Red Oak; four grandchildren, Colton Mead, Peyton Mead, Nikky Jackson, and Ryan Jackson.
