Dixie Sue Wright

Dixie Sue Wright, aged 86, of Quitman, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026. Born on January 23, 1940, in Mineola, Texas, she was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother, whose warm spirit and kind heart touched the lives of many.

Dixie worked as a snack bar worker at Tyler Pipe for many years and also at Split Rail BBQ in Mineola, where her dedication and work ethic were evident throughout her career. Dixie had a passion for family gatherings, often cherishing the moments spent with her loved ones, where she enjoyed the company and conversation of friends and family.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Terry and husband, Robert; sons, Roland Caston and wife Charmey and Don Edwards and wife Kandi; and a legacy of love through her 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Dixie will also be missed by several nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Pauline Green; daughter, Lorraine Ray; husband, Art Wright; brother, Tommy Green and sisters, Dora Banks and Doris Riddle.

A graveside service to honor Dixie Sue Wright will be held at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery on February 13, 2026, at 11:30 am. Friends and family are invited to gather as we celebrate her wonderful life and offer our farewells.

Dixie's memory will forever be cherished by all who knew her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
