Donald Keith Dubbs

November 3, 1929 — December 24, 2010

Donald Keith Dubbs was born on Sunday, November 3, 1929 to the late Strow and Clesta Gladys Mitchell Dubbs in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He was the fourth of eight children born into the family. On December 24, 2010 Keith was called home to begin his celebration with Christ.

Keith served in the United States Army during World War Two in the Classified Correspondence Section, Supreme Headquarters, Far East Command. In 1950 he served in Kobe, Japan during the Korean

Conflict working once again in the Classified Correspondence Section.

In 1954 he began his own business with partners, owned and operated record distribution warehouses and retail stores throughout Texas and parts of Oklahoma.

In 1970 he met and married the woman who would become the love of his life, Betty Pool Dubbs in San Antonio, Texas. Soon after that he took on the responsibility of adopting and helping raise her three young children.

He was a devoted and loving husband and father to them throughout his life.

In 1984 Keith and Betty moved to Mineola where he received his brokers license in real estate. He owned and operated his own realty company, Dubbs Real Estate until just weeks before his passing.

Keith had a strong belief and pride in family, God and country. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mineola, belonged to the American Legion, the NRA and was a member of The National, State and Tyler Association of Realtors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years Betty Pool Dubbs: two sons, Jeff Dubbs and wife Wanda, Mineola, Texas: Robert Dubbs and wife

Dorsey, Chula Vista, California: one daughter, Rhonda Brown and husband Curtis, Prince Albert, Canada: eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters: Dorothy Townsend,

Nancy Greeley and Beverly Lee, and one brother Strow Dubbs.
