Donald (Don) Gunder Neystel had his Homegoing on Thursday, July 4th at home with his loving wife Nita, holding his hand. He is now breathing the pure air of heaven, face-to-face with Jesus. Don was born on August 25, 1935 in Bosque County to his parents, Gunder and Ethyl Neystel.
Don served his country in the US Army from May, 1956 to March, 1958 stationed in Germany and stood tall for his God, his country, and his family. He also served his country by working for the United States Postal Service as a Postman & later in Management in Dallas for 33 yrs. total. He retired in 1990. Don and Oneida (Nita) Sparkman Davis married on December 29, 1987. After he retired, he worked for the Winnsboro ISD in Maintenance, for Winkle Oil Company and later assisted with funerals at the Winnsboro Beaty Funeral Home. He was a blessing to everyone wherever he worked.
He loved the Lord and was a wonderful teacher of the Bible and was very involved with his church family at Walnut Street Baptist Church until he wasn't able to attend. He loved his big family with a passion as well as those who were his friends. One of his favorite retirement things was camping with his friends and family. He always enjoyed recalling so many good times with them all. He loved Jesus and his life was exemplary of it to all he knew and met.
Don's mother and father, Gunder and Ethel Neystel, his beloved daughter, Melina , his brothers Travis, Henry, Euel and Buel, and his grandson, Alex Nichols, preceded him in death. He's now reunited with them and many other loved ones. He is survived by his loving wife, Nita Neystel of 36 years, his daughter, Brenda Cassady (Doug), Son-in-law, Dane Kelley, great grandlove, Bryce Nichols, daughter in love, Kristie Williams (Brad Embrey), sons in love, Greg Davis and Tim Davis (Stacie); his grandchildren Taylor Kelley (Lauren), Lauren Bosse
(Ben), Amber Tracy (Sean), Colton Cassady, Tad Davis, Aaron Williams, Allen Williams (Lauren), Ashley Nichols and Dalton Niles. They will so miss him but will cherish all the special times they had with him. He had 13 great grandchildren he adored. He was also special to many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Don is now resting in Heaven, visiting with Jesus, enjoying his new body, and fellowshipping
with many loved ones and friends. We'll see you later Don!
