Doris Christene Burns

Mrs. Doris Christene Burns of Mineola, Texas passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the age of 85. She was born on Wednesday, January 11, 1928 in Wood County to the late Joseph (Burt) and Opal White. She was beautician for 42 years and owned and operated Christene T’s Beauty Shop in Mineola.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 32 years, Clifton Burns; a sister, Estelle Caldwell; and a brother, Joe White.

Survivors include a son, Don Burns and wife Janet of Bullard, Texas; daughter, Doris Peterson and husband Paul of Terrell, Texas; two grandchildren, Lindsey Peterson, Wendy Hiser and husband Ryan; three great grandchildren, Brannon Hiser, Alyssa Hiser and Raelynn Peterson, brother, Eugene (Buster) White and wife Melba; sister-in-law, Lanelle White and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Monday, January 28, 2013 at 3:00pm at Concord Cemetery in Wood County under the direction of Beaty Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Morrow officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Diabetes Association.
