Doris Cleo Oswalt Durham, age 82 of Mineola, Texas, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011 in Bedford, Texas. Born on October 29, 1928 in Thornton, Texas to Herbert and Opal Stutts Oswalt. Graduated from Mexia High School in 1946. Attended North Texas State University for two years, married Roy Amos Durham in 1947. Moved to Mineola where they owned and operated Durham's Signs and Antiques. She was active in both the Pilot Club and Lion's Club. She became a member of the D.A.R. with a national number. An active member of St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church having held many offices.
Preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Roy Amos Durham who died in 1996.
She is survived by two sons, Lou Durham of North Richland Hills and Roy Nathan Durham of Mesquite; a brother Herbert Oswalt; four grandchildren, Penny DiCapo, Melanie Raj, David and Daniel Durham, nine great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, uncles and aunts.
Reception will be on Friday, October 7, 2011 from 6 - 8 PM at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola.
Services for Ms. Durham will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola with Father Pantle officiating.
Memorial in lieu of Flowers may be made to Hospice of East Texas.
