Doris Foster - Box was born July 31, 1934, in Irving, Texas, to Joe and Ruth Puckett. Doris met and married the love of her life, George Foster, after graduating from Irving High School. She passed away peacefully and with grace on July 26, 2026, at the honorary age of 92.

She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mom, grandma, and great grandma throughout her life. Family was the most important thing to her. Hosting Thanksgiving yearly to see her legacy unite and to be surrounded by love. "Queen Mother" was often her name during these gatherings. Everyone always looked forward to her homemade cookies and sweets that she would bring at Christmas gatherings. When family wasn't around, she adored being with friends. Her benevolence drew them in, and her humor kept them coming back. She was a mother to many and will be deeply missed by all.
She worked for the Mineola Monitor, where she made many friends and left her mark with a friendly smile and a fierce attitude. Doris was an incredible seamstress, cook, and advice giver who loved to read, listen to audiobooks and music, play cards, and tracing her genealogy to get in touch with her roots, even becoming a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

No matter what she did, it was always with strong perseverance and independence. She was never scared to speak her mind, which made her a great adventurer and head of house. Doris was a devoted and active member of the Mineola Church of Christ. She loved to meet with her friends from the church to go to the tearoom and discuss and deepen their faith together. It pushed Doris to be more generous and to care for others and give to those who needed it. She was not scared to die, she was in fact "ready to sit at the feet of Jesus".

Doris is preceded in death by her late husband George Foster, parents Joe and Ruth Puckett; brothers Earl and Michael Puckett.

Doris is survived by her daughter Rhonda Ledbetter and husband Patrick, son Daryl Foster, son David Foster and wife Viata; grandchildren, David Ledbetter and wife Roxanne, Scott Ledbetter, Tyler Foster, Trinity Foster, Tye Darling and wife Shyla; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Ledbetter, Jessie Ledbetter, James Ledbetter, Jacoby Maxson, Rylen Darling, Tyran Darling; nephews Brian Puckett, Micheal Puckett; neice Angela Lozano; great neices; Mya Puckett, Elora Puckett; sister-in-laws Beverley Puckett, Ann Puckett and countless precious others.
