Doris Lorene Hanson

Mrs. Doris Lorene Hanson, age 94 of Winnsboro, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the hospital in Sulphur Springs. She was born on September 29, 1926 in Little Hope to the late Valter Saxon and Arlen Pinson Saxon. She worked for McWhorter Drug and Martin Drug and attended Walnut Street Baptist Church. She also volunteered for Sunday School at Whispering Pines Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Hanson; uncle and aunt who raised her, Henry Guy Saxon and Lula Mae Saxon. She is survived by her two daughters, Joyce Watkins of New Braunfels and Maxine Kennedy of Dallas; sister, Dorothy Lansdale of Gilmer; two grandchildren, Darren Davis and wife, Sarah and Angela Chandler and husband, Roy; five great grandchildren, David Chandler, Connor Chandler, Lauren Chandler, Austin Davis, and Morgan Davis. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Beaty Funeral Home-Winnsboro 816 W. Broadway Winnsboro, TX 75494. Graveside Service will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Lee Cemetery Highway 37 S. Winnsboro, TX 75494 at 2:00 pm, Michael Jaynes conducting. Pallbearers are Rusty Brewer, Tommy Teague, Clinton Cooper, Roy Chandler, Jimmy Moyers, and Johnny Folmar.
