With heavy hearts yet joyous memories, the family of Doris Jean Pool announces her peaceful passing on September 5, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on January 10, 1947, in Pittsburg, Texas, Doris lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a devotion to her family and faith.
A lifetime member of the Winterfield Baptist Church in Pickton, Doris embodied the spirit of community and service. She was a cherished employee at Brookshires Grocery in Winnsboro, where she worked with dedication as a cashier, delighting customers with her warm smile and kind spirit.
Doris's greatest love was her family. She is survived by her daughters, Stacey Wetzel and Thressa Kirkendall, and her son-in-law, Brad Wetzel. Additionally, Doris leaves behind nine treasured grandchildren: David Kull, Krista Kull, Shelby Garza, Ashley Pacheco, Chelsey Kirkendall, Josey Turner, Montana Hurley, Sadie Wetzel, and Shyann Wetzel, as well as twenty great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. Her grandchildren will fondly remember her for her delectable biscuits and gravy, and her famous chocolate pie, and they will carry her warmth in their hearts.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband: H.E. Pool; parents, Alton Lindley and Lorene Lindley, and her brother, Jerry Lindley.
Doris had a zest for life. She enjoyed attending basketball games, where her cheers could often be heard, and she cherished daily phone conversations with her friends.
A celebration of Doris's life will take place at Beaty Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro. Visitation will be held on September 8, 2026, at 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM.
In this time of remembrance, we invite all who knew and loved Doris to join us in celebrating her remarkable life and the legacy she leaves behind. Her generous spirit and loving nature will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her.
