Dorothy Lou Baty

Our dearest Dorothy passed away Thanksgiving Day at the age of 79.

She was born in Paris, TX on October, 13 1935 to the late A.R. and Cora Toppings and grew up there. She married the love of her life, Harold in 1953 and they shared 50 years. Her heart was broken when he passed away in 2004. She and Harold spent most of their adult lives in Garland, TX where he was a police officer and she was a homemaker. They retired to Quitman, TX.

She is survived by daughter; Sheryl Burt and husband Ken of Wylie, TX, a son; Steve Baty and wife Carolyn of Dixon, MO; also left to mourn six grandchildren, Stephaine Skyles and husband Dale of Dixon, MO, Jason Burt and wife Terra of Wylie, TX, Nathan Burt of Lewisville, TX, Elizabeth Baty of Dixon, MO, George Baty of Dixon, MO, Kimberly Baty of Dixon, MO; six great grand children, Austin Skyles, Cannon Burt, Cody Skyles, Hudson Burt, Amy Bowman, Max Bowman; two sisters, Wanda Jean Wright and husband James of Paris, TX and Sandra Rowe of Dallas, TX and several nieces and nephews.

Although our hearts are broken, we take great comfort in knowing she and Harold are together again.

Visitation will be at Beaty Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 6-8 PM. Funeral service will be at Beaty Funeral Home on Thursday December 4, 2014 at 12:00 PM officiated by Dr. Mark Neeley. Followed by internment at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola, TX.

In lieu of flowers donations to The Quitman Arboretum would be appreciated.
