Dorothy Ann Lewis

Funeral Services for Mrs. Dorothy Ann Lewis, age 74 of Mineola, are scheduled for 3 PM Monday at the First Baptist Church in Mineola with Dr. Mark Neeley and Rev. Reggie Day officiating. Burial will follow at New Providence Cemetery in Longview under the direction of Beaty Funeral Home of Mineola.

Mrs. Lewis died Friday June 4, 2010 at a Mineola nursing home. She was born September 1, 1935 in Winnsboro to the late, Roscoe and Marie Jacobs Bowden.

Mrs. Lewis was a teacher for over 30 years having taught at Jacksboro, Hawkins and Mineola. She also worked at Jarvis College. She graduated from Hawkins High School and Paris Junior College where she was a drum major. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mineola and the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Randall Don Lewis on December 30, 1995, and by three brothers-in-law, Milford, Farrar, and David Lewis

Survivors include her husband, Larry Lewis; sons, Steve Lewis and his wife Mary and Darrell Lewis and his wife Wendy; sisters-in-law, Carol Ann Pauli, Mary Lee Lewis and Ann Eubanks Lewis; grandchildren, Lacey Lewis, Joseph Lewis and Katie Lewis and great grandchildren Rori Rowan, Joshua Lewis and Jackson Lewis.
