Dorothy Dorolea Spruell (Patterson)

Dorothy D. Spruell, age 87, of Mineola, Texas died on July 8th, 2025.

She was born on Wednesday, December 29, 1937, in Mineola, Texas to the late William J. Patterson and Katie L. Patterson.

Dorothy married the love of her life, Walter Wayne Spruell, February 25, 1955. They were married for 57 years and had three children. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, her sister-in-law Bobbie Patterson, her granddaughter Shelly Scott and grandson Hunter Cole Spruell.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters Deann Miller of Ben Wheeler, Sandra Jill Scott of Mineola and son Billy Wayne Spruell along with his wife Amy of Mineola, and her brother Bill Patterson of Shreveport, LA. She has 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 nieces.

Dorothy was a current member of the Mineola Church of Christ.

The family wanted to extend a very special thank you to those at Aspen Hospice and Palliative Care in Quitman, who loved and helped us though the past several days.
