Durward Lamar Jones

Durward Lamar Jones, age 81, of Mineola, Texas, died Saturday, August 18, 2012 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on Wednesday, July 29, 1931 in Choudrant, Louisiana to the late Andrew and Ida Mae Jones.

He was retired from Rockwell International and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Mineola.

He is preceded in death by a son, Durward Jones, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Jones; three sons, Anthony Jones and wife Lila of Galveston, Texas, Michael Jones and wife Janet of Wylie, Texas and Andrew Jones and wife Roxanne of Roanoke, Texas; two daughters, Linda Wilcoxson and husband Ed of Tyler and Patricia Buckaloo and husband Billy of Sparta, Tennessee; a brother, Jimmy Jones of Richardson, Texas; four sisters, Helene Ritchie of Garland, Texas, Juanita Rodgers of Shreveport, Louisiana, Shirley Mayfield of Logans Port, Louisiana and Sheila Jones of Alvarado, Texas; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Jones will be held at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 6:00 PM with a Rosary following at 7:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Mineola on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Father Efran Nano officiating.

Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola.
