Dwight Julian Morrow

Memorial services for Dwight "Julian" Morrow, 63, of Quitman, will be at 3 PM Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro, Texas, with Rev. Fred Morrow officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 2 PM. Julian was born July 28, 1948 in Oak Grove, Texas to K.A. and Irene Morrow. Julian went to be with his Lord on Friday, November 23, 2012 after a courageous stand against heart disease.

As a member of the US Navy, Julian proudly served his country in Vietnam as a medic for one tour and enlisted for a second tour to continue serving his country and also to prevent one of his brothers from being drafted. He deeply loved his family and his country. During this time, he was recognized with the Navy Unit Commendation, a National Defense Medal, and a Vietnam Service Medal With One Bronze Star. He was also stationed in San Diego, CA, Corpus Christi, TX, and Japan. Although Julian continued serving others as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years, he served 26 of those years at Presbyterian Hospital of Winnsboro.

Julian is survived by a son, Kirk Morrow of Arlington, Texas, a daughter and son-in-law, Regina Morrow Darby and Marion Darby of Longview, Texas, three beautiful granddaughters, Amber, Kim, and Katie, all of Longview, Texas, five brothers; Jerre Morrow of Quitman, J. Harvey Morrow of Quitman, Fred Morrow of Quitman, Joe Morrow of Mineola, and Jacob Morrow of Mineola, a sister, Joan Nita Morrow of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, a dedicated caregiver and longtime friend, Jeanette Nichols of Quitman, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, K.A. and Irene Morrow; and two brothers, Jerome and Jan Morrow.

Morrow written on the check/money order) to assist with funeral/misc. expenses with any remaining funds placed in a college fund for the loves of his life - his granddaughters.
