Earl Ray Burns, 86, of Winnsboro, Texas, passed away on August 27, 2021. Earl was born on October 15, 1934, in Yantis, Texas to the late Lonnie and Almer (Sykes) Burns. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Wanda Lee Burns and second wife Virginia Grace Burns; 1 grandchild, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Mr. Burns is survived by his son Ronny Earl Burns and wife Brenda, daughter Yolanda Lee Dennis, son Alvin (Pokey) Ray Burns and wife Becky, son Christopher Ray Burns and son Bryan Keith Burns; 16 grandchildren, many, many great-grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Earl was raised in Dallas and graduated from Forest Avenue High School. He honorably served in the U.S. Army and was retired from General Motors Assembly Plant in Arlington, Texas. Mr. Burns had been a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Winnsboro. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 1st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro. The funeral will be Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in the Yantis cemetery.
