Mr. Eddie Lee Horton, Jr. age 93, of Mineola, Tx passed away July 30, 2024.

Eddie Lee was born February 28, 1931 in Elmgrove, LA to the late Eddie Lee Horton, Sr. and Annie Cawthorne Horton.

In 1954, Eddie Lee married his lifetime love, Jewel Martin; together they raised six children.

Eddie Lee was a devout Christian who accepted Christ at an early age while attending Hurricane Bluff Baptist Church in Louisiana.

Staying true to his Faith, while living in Mineola, Brother Horton became an active and devoted member of Friendship Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Lindale, TX. He served on the Trustee Board, Steward Board, and sang in the choir.

He was preceded in death by his parents Eddie Lee Horton, Sr. and Annie C. Horton; his loving wife Jewel Horton, daughter Pamela Horton; great-grandson Tremario Brown; siblings John L. Horton, Willie Lee Horton, T.Cola Horton, and Roy James Horton; brothers-in-law Troy Holmes and Bobby Duncan; and son-in-law Mayfield R. Smith III.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children Sheron D. Horton, Eddie Jewel Horton, Susan Horton Smith, Calvin C. Horton, and Alex B. Horton; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; his siblings Eloise Horton McCray, Ora Lee McGhee, Annie Queen Horton, Robert Earl Horton; sister-in-law Maggie Pat Holmes and Shirley Jean Duncan; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
