Edith Mae Ferguson Nash, age 89 of Mineola, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2011 in Austin, Texas. She was born on Tuesday, January 17, 1922 in Walters, Oklahoma to the late Eva Mae Bird and Walter A. Ferguson. Edith lived in Sulphur Springs, Texas with her husband James (Jim) C. Nash for 18 years where she was involved in many civic and community organizations and taught Sunday School. She was a member of Junior Waverly Club, the Garden Club and several bridge clubs.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, James (Jim) C. Nash; her step-mother Nina Cox; a brother, Walter A. Ferguson, Jr.; and a sister, Myrtle Albritton Frietag.
She is survived by sons, Danny Alan Nash and Stephen Wayne Nash and his wife Gail Carroll Nash; four cherished grandchildren, Amy M. Garcia, Christi L. Muhle, Michael L. Frazer, Jr., and Kimberly E. Engel. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren, Trinity Muhle, Timothy Muhle, Jacob Muhle, Savannah Muhle, Shepherd Muhle, Brian Wilkins, Michael Garcia, Joseph Garcia, Sara Garcia, Michael Frazer, Jr., Logan Lawrence and Colten Frazer.
Edith was cremated at her request and interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola to join her beloved husband. A memorial service will bel held Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Mineola.
