Edward Dean Adkins

Edward Dean Adkins, born on February 19, 1953, in Peoria, Illinois, passed away leaving a legacy of service, artistry, and love. After graduating from high school, Edward joined the United States Navy, where he proudly served for 16 years as a Gunners Mate before retiring. While in the Navy, he married the love of his life, Sondra, on February 18, 1988. Together, they raised their children and embraced life’s adventures.

Following his naval career, Edward transitioned into truck driving, a career he pursued for another 16 years. Outside of work, Edward was a man of many talents. He had a deep passion for music, often entertaining friends and family with his guitar playing. He also possessed a unique artistic skill for building intricate ships out of cardboard, which were admired as true works of art.

Edward is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Sondra Adkins; daughter Deanie Hamilton; sons Freddie Adkins, Michael Adkins, and Austin Adkins; and two beloved grandchildren, Brooklyn Hamilton and Bridget Smith.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
