With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Edward J. Pierce, Jr., who departed this world on April 2, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on February 11, 1941, in Dallas, Texas, Eddie was the son of the late Edward Joel Pierce and Marie Pierce.
Eddie was a dedicated electrician, contributing his skills to Dennis Electric in Grapevine for many years before venturing to Winnsboro, where he pursued his entrepreneurial endeavors. He was a master craftsman, finding joy in restoring vintage Fords and attending car shows. Eddie’s passion for craftsmanship extended beyond automobiles; he was equally content tinkering away in his home workshop.
A man of unwavering faith, Mr. Pierce was a cherished member of the First Baptist Church in Winnsboro for two decades. His commitment to his church resonated deeply with all who knew him.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Joel Pierce and Marie Pierce, and his brother, Jerry Pierce. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Betty Jackson Pierce, his daughters Rhonda Murphy and Kathy Waite, along with their respective husbands Scott Murphy and Brian Waite. He is also survived by his sister, Connie Heydenreih, three grandchildren, Amy Pitcher and husband Jeff Harris, Nicholas Waite and wife Kassie, Michael Waite and wife Kassie, and seven great-grandchildren, Ryan Harris, Brooke Harris, Trae Harris, Lincoln Waite, Saylor Waite, Ford Waite, and MacKenzie Waite.
Mr. Pierce’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the warmth of our love and the echoes of his laughter.
