Elizabeth Ann Kelley

May 1, 1942 — September 28, 2022

Elizabeth Ann Lester Kelley, age 80 of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 28, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 1, 1942, in Welch WV, in the Lake Superior Coal Camp, the daughter of James and Nannie Bell (Woodward) Lester. At age five they moved to a farm on Mud Fork, Tazewell County, Virginia where she grew up.

Liz had many occupations over the years, but at age 53 she fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a flight attendant. She loved flying and enjoyed meeting people, traveling the country, and visiting family and friends. She was sad to have to retire due to her health after 12 years.

She was a member of Holly Tree Bible Church in Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, the community where they retired to in 2007. She stayed busy in retirement getting involved in many volunteering activities around the area.

She loved her family and was never happier than when she had all of them together. She had a special place in her heart for her fur babies and loved having them snuggled around her.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, Dale; daughters: Chris (John) Dudley of Blissfield, MI, Deanna (Keith) Dietrich of Holly Lake Ranch, TX, and Tracie (Keith) Eason of Bells, TN; step-children: Christie Wallace of Hurst, TX, Kayla Mooty (Andrew) of N. Richland Hills, TX, James Kelley of Waxahachie, TX and Robert Kelley of Greenwood, AR; mother in law, Marifrances Kelley; brothers: Charlie (Pat) Lester and Jeff (Teresa) Lester; sister-in-law: Ann Lester, Sparta, GA, and brother-in-law: Chip Hoyt of Florida; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Howard & George Lester, and sister Linda Hoyt.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 8, at Beaty Funeral Home, Mineola, TX at 2:00. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Mineola, TX following the service.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 7 between 7:00 pm-8:00 pm, and on Saturday, October 8 from 1:00 pm until the time of service.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the very special people who cared for Liz in such a compassionate way during her illness.
