With hearts full of love and remembrance, we honor the life of Elizabeth Renee Newell, who peacefully passed away on January 16, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on March 20, 1961, in Fort Riley, Kansas, Renee was a beautiful soul whose gentle spirit, warm smile, and genuine kindness touched everyone blessed to know her.
Renee lived her life devoted to her family, always placing their needs before her own and surrounding them with unconditional love and support. She leaves behind her devoted partner, Sam Geer; her best friend, Carlton Newell; and her beloved children: Patrick Novotny, Monica Asarisi, Rachael Hoover, and Jennifer Pemberton.
Nothing brought Renee greater joy than her family. She was immensely proud of and played a pivotal role in the raising of her twelve grandchildren-Jeremey, Jack, Haley, Evan, Mathew, Candice, Zachary, Amaya, Mark, Kaitlynn, Alexander, and Sheena-and her great-granddaughter, Ellie. Renee is also lovingly remembered by her brother, Dave Rankin; her sisters, Leisa Ramirez, Annette Vickers, and Jeannette Hill; her sister-in-law, Tina Rankin; her brother-in-law, Rudy Ramirez; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A creative and caring soul, Renee found peace and happiness in crafting, especially making dream catchers, and had recently begun exploring resin art with hopes of starting her own small business. She loved tending to her houseplants, finding joy and comfort in nurturing life. In quiet moments, she enjoyed fishing and treasured time spent with her faithful companions, Rusty and Misty, who rarely left her side.
Renee was welcomed into eternal peace by her parents, Dave Rankin and Katherine Cofer; her sister, Diann James; and her beloved dog, Buddy.
Renee's love was a gift she gave freely, and her kindness will continue to live on through the lives she touched.Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit remains forever in our hearts.
