Elsie Geneva Hughes Walton, 97 of Mineola, TX passed away on November 23, 2021. She was born in Mineola, TX on October 1, 1924, to the late Carl and Elsie Peebles. Geneva graduated from Mineola High School in 1942 with highest honors. She was a charter member of Northside Church in Mineola, TX where she taught Sunday School for many years and the church secretary.

She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 31 years in Mineola, TX. Geneva then sold real estate for ten years.

She is preceded in death by husbands, Hayward Head, Rex Hughes, and Howard Walton, son; baby boy Gary Head, daughter; Jan McCown, son; Eddy Lamar Hughes, great grandson; Jeremy Goss, brothers; Bill Peebles and Buddy Peebles.

Geneva is survived by two children, Barry Head and wife Theresa of Texarkana, AR and Nita Jo Petty and husband Robert of Mineola, TX, twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who were all very dear to her.

Her life was spent loving her Lord and caring for her family and many others.
