Elzie Mae Screws

Elzie Mae Screws, age 85 of Gilmer, passed away, Wednesday, March 12, 2008 in Gilmer. She was born on December 17, 1922 in Wood County to the late Newt and Mary Sweeney Nichols. She was a nurses aid and a baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard R. Screws; two sisters, Mattie Cox, and Florine Boyd; five brothers, Homer, Ed, Bill, Ernest, and Fred Nichols. She is survived by three sons, Rayburn Screws and wife Ruby of Gilmer, Jerry Scott and wife Rosalind of Tyler, Johnny Screws and wife Debbie of Mesquite; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
