Ernest Kendall Bates

Mr. Ernest Kendall "Ken" Bates, age 78 of Winnsboro, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at a long term care center in Mt. Pleasant. Ken was born on August 22, 1937 in Pampa, Texas to the late Ernest Kester Bates and Lillian E. Stowers Bates. He served in the U.S. Navy and later retired as Assistant Train Master for the Santa Fe Railroad. He is survived by his loving wife, Priscilla (Trujillo) Bates of Winnsboro; son, Kendall Bates and wife Jessica of Plano; brother, Don Bates and wife Carol of Tyler; sister, Betty Wimpy of Little Elm; and one grand child, Alexander Bates. A private scattering ceremony will be held in Albuquerque, NM at a later time.
