Ernest A. Lee

Mr. Ernest "Pop" Lee, passed away at his home in Winnsboro, Saturday March 22, 2008 at the age of 81. He was born on June 23, 1926 in Lovelady, Texas to the late Allen and Ruby Buckanon Lee. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a retired inspector for TXDOT. He married Betty Polley on June 23, 1946, they retired to Winnsboro in 1992. He was a member and deacon at the First Baptist Church of Winnsboro. Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Margaret Bain in 1984; and one son, Freddie Lee in 1986. Survivors include, his loving wife of 61 years, Betty Lee of Winnsboro; threes sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis and Janet Lee of Corinth, David and Carolyn Lee of Grand Prairie, David and Edwana Lee of Winnsboro; three brothers, Clarence Lee and wife Alice of Quitman, James Lee and wife Francis of Hughes Springs, Vernon Lee of Gun Barrell City; fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
