Everett Leavy Ashley Jr., 83, of Mineola, TX died on Monday, March 31, 2014 in Mineola, TX. He was born on Tuesday, July 3, 1930 in Hunt County, TX to the late Everett Leavy and Callie Lucretta Ashley. Mr. Ashley was a member of the Broad Street Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War. He raised six children that love The Lord. He was a man that loved life and lived it to the fullest.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jo Juana Beth Swindell; grandson Joshua Phillips; six brothers; one sister.

He is survived by his sons, Sam Ashley of San Antonio, TX, Tom Ashley of Edmond, OK; four daughters, Pam Henry and husband Larry of Melissa, TX, Kathy Phillips and Steve of Mena, AR, Lisa Beasley and husband Corwyn of Lindale, TX, Kelley Bagby and husband Alex of Edmond, OK; eighteen grandchildren; thirty seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Visitations will be on Thursday, April 3 at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola from 6-8 PM. Funeral service will be on Friday, April 4 at 2:00 PM at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola with Steve Neville and Steve Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park in Greenville, TX.
