Fern Lillien Turk

Mrs. Fern Turk of Mineola, Texas passed away November 29, 2007 at the age of 91. She was born November 8, 1916 to the late Henry and Lillien (Leseman) Palmby in Bertha, Minnesota. She has lived in Mineola for 61 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was Co-Owner of Herms Restaurant in Mineola for over 30 years. She worked with Caring and Sharing for many years. She was very active in the Service Sunday School Class. She donated many hours to Meals on Wheels. She was a member of several Bridge Clubs where she had served as Chairman and other positions. She was an avid bowler and was very good at running hurdles in high school. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Turk and by one sister, June George Champlin. She is survived by two daughters, Karen Turk of Mineola, Texas and Sandra and husband Vince Colvin of Mineola, Texas; brother, Donald Palmby of Camino, California; sister, Joyce Crooker of Little Elm, Texas; two granddaughters, Jodi Herring and husband Jason of Houston, Texas and Shelley Gilbert and husband David of London, England.
