Mrs. Florence Evelyn Fisher died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at the the age of 98. She was born on January 1, 1912 to the late John N. Grimes and Lucinda Belle Welch Grimes. Mrs. Fisher married Mr. Robert Grady Fisher on June 16, 1930 and he preceded her in death on January 1, 1964. She attended the Wilson N. Jones Nursing School in Sherman and worked at the Winnsboro Hospital as an L.V.N. Mrs. Fisher was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winnsboro where she taught Sunday School until her retirement in 1985 as teacher of the Lightbearer Class. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club of Winnsboro where she served as a Past President. Mrs. Fisher was an accomplisted soloist in her youth, studied voice and performed for large audiences. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, John Graves Grimes, William Frank Grimes and Wallace Aubrey Grimes. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Col. Grady and Sandy Fisher of Winnsboro and John and Ann Fisher of Elk Ridge, UT; daughters and son-in-law, Lou and Dr. David Murley of Winnsboro and Rev. Evelyn Fisher of Topeka, KS; fifteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
