Florence E. Sumners

Mrs. Florence E. Sumners, age 92 of Winnsboro, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 in Ft. Worth. Florence was born in Paris, Texas on August 19, 1922 to the late E.P. "Doc" and Roxie May Riser Cooper. She retired from the City of Dallas, was a member of the Southern Belles, and member of the Perryville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Melvin E. Sumners, her parents, seven sisters, and one brother. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Jerry Hitchcock of Ft. Worth; and two grandchildren, Britton Laine Smith and husband Harry, and Erick Jason Hitchcock; great-grandchildren, Christian Cooper Hitchcock, Tyler Reeves, Chap Reeves, Harry Smith IV, Jewelian Smith; and one great-great-grandchild, Cooper Zane Hitchcock.
