F. O. “Butch” Hankins born to Ovis Efton Hankins and Florence Coleen Sprague Hankins on
January 14, 1943 passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025 at the age of 82 years old. He
worked in dairy farming, self-employed in many occupations and previously worked for A.K.
Gillis. Butch enjoyed playing dominoes and spending his days at his favorite fishing hole in
Lake Cypress Springs.
Mr. Hankins is survived by son Tracey Hankins and wife Beth of Pickton, son Richard
Hankins and wife Jamie of Monroe, Michigan, son Kevin Hankins and Nina of Winnsboro,
sister Lavonda Hoffman and husband Billy Bob of Pickton, sister Ovalene Barber of Sulphur
Springs, brother Bobby Hankins and wife Teena of Weaver, and sister-in-law
Laqueta Hankins; grandchildren Ashley Grogan and husband Jeremiah of Toledo, Ohio,
Zachery Hankins of Winnsboro, Hailey McLemore of Winnsboro, Brodie Ogle and wife Brea
of Mt. Vernon, Kaitlyn Hankins of Saltillo, Korey Hankins and wife Jerica of Sulphur Springs,
Sami Hunter and husband Aaron of Monroe, Michigan, Kaysi Shopshire and husband Drake
of Monroe, Michigan, Alli Kennington of Sulphur Springs, and Mac Hankins of Winnsboro.
Great Grandchildren Judah, Hattie Kate, Jaxon, Beau, Piper, Truett, Henzlee and Delilah as
well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Don
Hankins, Ed Hankins, and Jerry Hankins.
Visitation will be held on March 6, 2025 at Beaty Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers,
donations in Mr. Hankins memory can be made to The Hospice of East Texas, 4111
University Boulevard, Tyler, Texas 75701.
