Foye D. White

Funeral services for Foye Dickens White, 94, are scheduled for Friday, May 22th, at 2:00 at the First United Methodist Church of Winnsboro, Texas, officiated by Reverend Alan Snyder.

The burial will follow immediately after the service at Good Hope cemetery.

Foye went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 16, 2009. She was bom on June 3, 1914 to Wesley and Myrtis Dickens, Winnsboro, Texas. She was the first of five daughters (Virginia, deceased, Elsie, Frances, deceased, and Bille)

In 1936, she married Eckford T. White a native of the Oak Grove Community. They lived in several Texas towns before moving to San Angelo, Texas where they raised their two sons. After leaving San Angelo, both Foye and Eckford worked for the Mesquite Independent School District. Upon retirement from the Mesquite ISD, they returned to Winnsboro.

Foye was a member of the Winnsboro League of Arts and served on the administrative Board of the First United Methodist Church in Winnsboro. She was also a candidate for the Winnsboro City Council in 1978.

Foye was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother to her 2 sons, 4 Grandchildren, and 6 Great Grandchildren.

Foye was dedicated to raising her family when her sons were young. Her family was very important to her.

Foye is survived by 2 sons, Charles White and wife, Nancy, Abilene, Texas and Doyle White and wife, Barbara, of Carrollton, Texas. Grandchildren, Suzanne Peterson, St. Louis, Missouri, Keith White, Dallas, Texas, Brant White, Springboro, Ohio and Traci Brandon, Piano, Texas. She is also survived by six Great-Grand children, Hannah, Dane, Zakary, Kaitlyn, Jake and Colin.

The family will receive friends at 6:00 to 8:00 on Thursday evening at the Beaty Funeral Home, Winnsboro, Texas.
