Franca Rosa Rebolini April 26, 1932to February 22, 2021 Franca Rosa Rebolini, age 88, passed away on February 22, 2021. Born in Genova, Italy on April 26, 1932, to the late Giovanni and Simplicia Tola. Franca was a first-hand witness to the atrocities of wars as Axis forces occupied the city of Genova. Having survived and overcome those times gave her the greatest appreciation for life. Thus, she celebrated life-long with her tremendous love of music, admiration of art, her fondness for literature, and in the way she cared for those she loved including her unmatched culinary skills. In April of 1953, she was introduced to her neighbor’s nephew, Aldo. For Aldo, it was love at first sight. Smitten, Franca and Aldo married a mere two months later on June 27, 1953. Shortly after, he traveled to the United States to prepare a place for her. In March of 1954, she sailed alone across the Atlantic on the iconic SS Andrea Doria to rejoin him, and begin their 50-year adventure together. Over their half century of married life, they loved, laughed and danced beside one another, as they welcomed two sons and a daughter to the family. Together they also built a thriving family upholstery business , that remains in the family today. Franca had a bigger than life personality. She could walk into a room of strangers, and within minutes befriend them all. Her home was regularly filled with music, and she could often be heard singing along to her favorite opera, in a clear and beautiful soprano. And like every good Italian mother, she always wanted to know, “Have you eaten?” A lifelong devoted Roman Catholic, Franca’s faith was the anchor of her life. Beyond her love of faith and love of family, she treasured her adopted country, the United States, and she was most grateful to have been able to pass on its precious freedom as a birthright to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Franca was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband Aldo. Franca is survived by her children, son George and wife Donna, Bronx, NY; son Carlo and wife Linda, Nesconset, NY; daughter Denise and husband Charles, Quitman, TX; grandchildren, Danea Rebolini, NY,NY; Arianna and husband Brendan, Queens, NY; Jordan, Nesconset, NY; Dylan, Chicago, Ill; step-grandchildren Geoff Goff and wife Andrea, Sachse, TX; Jay Goff and wife Judy, Carrollton, TX; great-grandchild, Theo Rebolini Newell, and step great-grandchildren, Haylee, Christopher, London, Avery, Josephine, Logan, Geoffrey and Zoe.
