Longtime resident of Dallas, and later Lindale, Texas, Frances Loretta Fallwell passed away March 3rd, 2012, peacefully at the home of her daughter Denise near Abiquiu, New Mexico, after a courageous battle against Alzheimer's disease.
A memorial mass celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday March 10th, 2012, at St. Peter the Apostle Church 203 Meadowbrook Drive, Mineola, Texas 75773. Her children will be receiving guests after the mass.
Fran was born March 1st, 1927 in Cuba City, Wisconsin to Donald Craker and Grace Olson. Her hardworking life included work as a "riveter" working on airplanes during World War II to Director of nursing. She obtained her degree in Nursing from Saint Paul in Dallas, Texas and worked at Parkland Hospital where she met her husband, Frank X. Fallwell. Her career in nursing led her to positions ranging from School Nurse at Wilmer Hutchins High School to Director of Nursing for Visiting Nurses Association.
Fran was a master of many hobbies as well. She was expert in bonsai and orchid growing. She was a member of the Dallas Orchid Society. She loved sewing, cooking, gardening, square dancing, and most especially rock hunting.
She is survived by her children, Mike Fallwell, Stephen Fallwell, Denise Fallwell, Linda Stover, Karen Beebe, Mark Fallwell, Daniel Fallwell, Teresa Bohlin, Tom Fallwell, Martha Stovall, Nancy Wagner and many wonderful great and grandchildren.
