Freelon Dwight (Dee) Tullos, 86, of Lindale, Texas, closed his eyes in this life on October 29, 2024. Born on December 8, 1937, in Crockett, Texas, he was the beloved son of the late Robert and Gertrude Hamlin Tullos.
A man of faith, Freelon was of the Baptist faith and served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957 to 1959. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to found and serve as CEO of two successful helicopter companies, Heli-Dyne Systems and Uniflight, in Fort Worth, Texas. His contributions to the industry were significant, reflecting his passion and commitment to excellence. His career allowed him to travel all over the world.
Freelon and his cherished wife, Betty, retired to Lindale over 20 years ago, where they enjoyed the beauty of life together. A loving family man, he treasured moments spent fishing and camping with his family, creating lasting memories that will be cherished forever.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Leelon Tullos; his brothers George Tullos and Roba Wayne Tullos; and sister Bobbie Jean.
Freelon is survived by his beloved wife, Betty; sons Raymond Tullos and Mark Tullos; daughter Dana Tullos; brother Bill Tullos and wife Betty; grandson Brian Tullos; and 3 great-grandchildren.
He will be remembered not only for his achievements but also for his unwavering love for his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
