Frieda Sheel

Miss Frieda E. Sheel

Born in Parsons, Kansas on Saturday, August 10, 1935.

Died in Quitman, Texas on Sunday, July 3, 2011.

Frieda graduated from high school at Crozier Tech in Dallas, Texas in 1953. She attended college at the University of Texas and Southern Methodist University. She received a Master's Degree in Library Science at Louisiana State University. After graduation, she worked at the Rosenberg Library in Galveston, Texas before coming to Mineola where she was the head librarian. Frieda was instrumental in computerizing the library system in Mineola.

She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed her home on Lake Lydia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Edith Sheel.

She is survived by her brother, John F. Sheel, M.D. and three nieces, Marie Sheel in Hoboken, New Jersey, Catherine Sheel, DVM in San Luis Obispo, California and Carolyn Sheel in San Francisco, California.
