Gary Brumley, age 79 of Pickton, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was born on September 24, 1945, in Winnsboro to Dennis and Lois Brumley. After graduating from Pickton High School in 1964, he went on to business college in Dallas. Then he was drafted into the United States Army. Gary completed basic training in Ft. Polk, Louisiana, and went on to serve in Germany for two years during the Vietnam War before returning home.
On March 27, 1970, Gary married the love of his life, Lana Garner. Gary and Lana were married for 55 years and had three children, Steve, Kevin, and Scott. Gary was a member of the Winterfield Baptist Church. He was a dairyman and later worked for Valence as a Gas Plant Operator for 47 years. He loved hunting and fishing with his family.
Anyone who knew Gary knew he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Of all his titles he held, one of his favorites was being Pepaw to his grandchildren.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Lois Brumley; brother Mark Brumley; daughter-in-law, Leslie "Sissy" Brumley, and grandson Tanner Brumley.
Gary is survived by his devoted wife, Lana Brumley; three sons, Steve Brumley and wife, Nancy of Winnsboro, Kevin Brumley and wife, Shiloh of Winnsboro, and Scott Brumley and wife, Nilda of Pickton; sisters, Pam Allen and husband, Rickie of Pickton, Hilda Cummings of Pickton, Judy Watts of Pickton, and Sally Gunn and husband, Ronny of Pickton; brother, Junior Brumley of Pickton; nine grandchildren, Skye, Chayton, Marlin, Saxe, Skeet, MiKayla, Briar, Michael, and Dylon; great grandchildren, Serina, Damean, Mia, and Liam; one great-great grandchild, Elias.
