Gary Glen Cox

June 7, 1986 — May 11, 2024

Gary Glen Cox II, a vibrant soul born on June 7, 1986, in Dallas, Texas, to Gary and Laurel Cox, finished his race on May 11, 2024, in Denton, Texas. Gary, a skilled mechanic by trade, lived life at full throttle, driven by a passion for cars and a love for his family.

Gary spent twelve wonderful years with his closest friend and partner, Brooke Cox. Together, they brought into the world their beloved daughter, Dorothy Cox. Dorothy was the driving force behind Gary's every endeavor, inspiring him to give his all each day.

Cars were Gary's lifelong passion. He loved to work on them, race them, watch automotive shows, and play racing games. His ultimate goal was always "going fast," a testament to his adventurous spirit and love for the thrill of the ride.

Proud of his Lithuanian heritage, Gary dedicated time to tracing his family history, celebrating his roots with enthusiasm. His big personality and creative nature shone through in everything he did. He once famously repurposed a gravy boat for queso dip, declaring, "Queso is Texas gravy," a phrase that perfectly encapsulated his unique blend of humor and practicality.

Gary leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever. He is survived by his parents, Gary and Laurel Cox; his devoted partner and mother of his child, Brooke Cox; their daughter, Dorothy Cox; his siblings, Darby Cox, Zandy Cox, Amy Smith, and Melissa Bryan; two nieces, Stella and Zephyr Smith; and nephew Matthew Dombchik.

Gary's legacy of living life to the fullest and his boundless love for his family and friends will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
