Services for Mr. Patterson, 98, of Winnsboro will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 5th at 2 p.m. at the Beaty Funeral Home Chapel with Gerald Elliott officiating. Burial will be at the Ridgeway Cemetery in Hopkins County. Visitation will be held on Thursday September 4, 2014 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Beaty Funeral Home. Mr. Patterson passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014, Labor Day. He was born in Hopkins County, on August 3, 1916, to William Patterson and Elsie Cox Patterson-Holder. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Geraldine Emerson, and a brother, Bertram S. Patterson. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Daisy Reeves Patterson; a daughter, Pamela Pinkston and husband Cecil; a son, Randall Patterson and wife Cathy, all of Winnsboro; one granddaughter, Crystal Walker and husband Trey of Marshall, Texas; and three great grandchildren, Connor Walker, Bryana Walker, and Katelyn Bockelman; and his sister, Ruth Jeffers of Pasadena, Texas. Mr. Patterson worked for Safeway Stores Warehouse in the Dallas area for many years before retiring. A veteran of World War II, he was in the submarine branch of the U.S. Navy. Membership for Mr. Patterson included the Church of Christ, Gus Garrison Masonic Lodge in Winnsboro, Scottish Rite, and Shriners International. Pallbearers are Cecil Pinkston, Sonny Purcell, Carlton Stringer, Jerry Hallman, David Ward, and Roger Young. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Gus Garrison Masonic Lodge.
