George Doc Arburthnot

George "Doc" Arburthnot, age 75 of Winnsboro, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in Winnsboro. Doc was born in Douglas Georgia on July 25, 1937 to the late Ira and Gertrude Singletary Arburthnot. He was retired from the U.S. Army after more than 20 years, during which he served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He attended the Hat Creek Cowboy Church in Winnsboro. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jack Merritt; sisters, Hazel and Carolyn Arburthnot. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Gay Arburthnot of Winnsboro; son, Corey Arburthnot and wife Nancy of Winnsboro; daughters, Sheila Butler and husband Kevin Fender of Sulphur Springs, Tammy Bull and husband Mike of North Little Rock, AR., Linda Hodges and husband Claude of Winnsboro, Gracie Brown and husband Shane of Virginia; brother Pete Arburthnot of Georgia; twelve grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
