George Eugene Odell

Gene Odell of Pickton, Texas, passed away with Myria his wife of 59 years by his side on August 6, 2020. He was born on February 22, 1940 in Ennis, Texas to Joe Daniel Odell and Bertha Leona (Rogers) Odell. Gene married Myria Jane Hearn on April 22, 1961. He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1965. His family will tell you Gene was a jack of all trades. Gene loved watching his Westerns and living the country life. He served as a deacon at Winterfield Church. Gene was preceded in death by his parents; brother James Patterson; sisters Exie Mae Seal and Mary Lou Carr; nephew Gerald Brown, Jr. Mr. Odell is survived by his wife Myria Odell, nieces Malissa Simmons and Audrey Beard; and numerous other nieces, nephews and family. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11th for a time of visitation at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Harmony Cemetery.
