George James Pierce, 85, of Gainesville, Texas, passed away on March 10, 2025. He was born on January 25, 1940, in Denton, Texas, to Fred Valentine Pierce and Cena Harper Monday.

George grew up in Gainesville and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After his military service, he dedicated his career to the trucking industry, working as an owner-operator before embarking on a long and successful tenure with J.B. Hunt Trucking.

George married the love of his life, Florean Beth Pierce. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, cherishing time spent with family and friends.

George is survived by his children, Connie Watson, Janet Shaffer, Georgia Cameron, and Alan Pierce; and his sister, Kathryn Dunham. He had 6 grandkids and one great grand kid, 5 nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Valentine Pierce and Cena Harper Monday, as well as his brother, Clifford Ray Pierce Jr.

George will be remembered for his strong work ethic, unwavering dedication to his loved ones, and his kind heart. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
