Gerald Lavern Moerke

Mr. Gerald Lavern Moerke, age 80 of Winnsboro, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 in Winnsboro. He was born on January 22, 1941 in New Ulm, Minnesota to the late Clarence R. Moerke and Hilda Schmidt Moerke. Gerald retired from General Telephone and moved to Texas, with his wife Gina, where he worked in Telecommunications for the Texas State Lottery. He was a Christian by faith, served in the United States Marine Corp and was deployed to the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was preceded in death by parents and daughter, Sandra Moerke Survivors include his loving wife, Gina Moerke; sons, David C. Moerke, Christopher Moerke, John Gerald Moerke, and David Lee Jones and his wife Elizabeth; daughters, Debbie Ann Hatzakis and her husband, Angelo, Pamela Jo Lynn and her husband Dennis, and Amy Lea Spencer and her husband, Kelly; brother, Duane Moerke and his wife, Arlene; sister, Patricia Ward and her husband, David, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Lee Cemetery, Highway 37 S. Winnsboro, TX at 1:00 pm, Rev. Tommy Green conducting.
