Geraldine Hand

Geraldine(Jeri) Dorsey Hand 89, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother has entered into her eternal rest with her Heavenly Father on Monday 10/5/2020. A native of Georgia previously from Bonham and Euless, she moved to Winnsboro to be close to family, Wes and Ann Eggleston, grandson Wesley Carroll (Hairy)Eggleston and her son David Hand of Euless. Her family and friends were everything to her. Mom was an excellent cook. Many of her recipes were requested on a regular basis like her delicious chicken and dumplings or her 5 flavored pound cake. She was always trying new recipes and her family couldn’t wait to try what was cooking. She enjoyed preparing big meals for family gatherings and a competitive game of Chicken Foot afterword. She enjoyed “shopping”, and visiting with friends at Bingo in the Senior Center. Her passion for flowers was always appreciated in her yard and especially her Roses. She retired from retail sales where she enjoyed working with her co-workers and helping her customers. She was an expert seamstress and made clothing for the whole family along with quilts and crocheting afghans. She is survived by her sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 70 years, two brothers, one sister and other relatives. We wish to thank the caregivers who have helped us the last five years making it possible to stay in her home. You will always have a special place in our hearts.
