Ginger Kaye Nichols will always be remembered long after her passing for her love and care for others. Her zest for life was revealed in that familiar laughter of hers.
Our Ginger unexpectedly passed away Monday, October 11th from heart complications. She was a young 65 years old currently living in Alba (Lake Fork), Texas but previously had a long term residence in Mineola with her now deceased husband, Steve Collins.
Ginger was born in Dallas, Texas and raised in Irving, Texas. At the very young age of 7 ... Ginger was reigned the Dallas County "Queen of Hearts" for the 1963 Heart Fund Campaign. She graduated from Irving High School and then pursued a career as a fit model for Focus in Dallas.
She moved to Mineola in the early 1990's and was hired as Dr. Rob Pruitt's Veterinarian Assistant. Later, to become the Office Manager for Williams Oil of Mineola before retiring.
Ginger was the daughter of the deceased Ken and Margie Young of Mineola. She is survived by her loving son Randy Harrison; sister Cyndi Villlines and husband Rickey; brother Mark Young and wife Lisa. Surviving nieces and nephews include .... Kevin and Gigi Geremonte; Keelie Kirby; Kirk and Holly Kirby; John and Jordan Pope; Jacob and Summer Pruitt and Ryan and Jacquelyn Young. She also enjoyed many great nieces and nephews, as well.
Memorial services will be conducted at the Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola, Texas on Thursday, October 21 at 4:00 p.m.
