Glenda Joyce Hardeman Tomison

February 11, 1948 – April 19, 2025

Glenda Joyce Hardeman Tomison went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 19, 2025, in Gladewater, Texas, at the age of 77. She was born on February 11, 1948, in Grand Prairie, Texas, and raised on the family farm in Grand Prairie.

Glenda was a devout Christian whose relationship with Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. Born, baptized, and confirmed in the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), she lived her faith with unwavering devotion and joy. Her personal walk with Christ was deep and true, and she exemplified His love in every part of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, N.J. and Ella Mae Hardeman, and by her brothers Noel and Doug Hardeman. Many in-laws, cousins, extended family and friends will also be there to welcome Glenda to heaven.

She shared a special bond with her brother Ralph Hardeman—they were more than siblings, choosing to live as neighbors and close friends.

Glenda was married young and became the proud mother of three children: Amy Park-Koll (Darrell †), Jim Lewis Park III—lovingly remembered as "Baby Jimmy" († in infancy), and Angel Park-Duncan (Tony).

In 1976, she married the love of her life and soulmate, Charles Tomison. Their blended family was a source of great joy, and she embraced his daughters as her own: Lisa Willis (Dennis), Anita Fillner (Terry), and Laura Tomison (†). Glenda also gained two amazing brothers-in-law after marrying Charles. Larry and Robert along with their spouses and children completed the blossoming family circle.

She was a beloved grandmother to Kali and Alex, Meghan, Brent and Brandon, Jakob, and Casey. Glenda cherished her family and poured her love into each one of them.

In addition to her deep faith and devotion to her family, Glenda had many passions. She loved gardening and yardwork, especially tending to her plants and flowers. She had a beautiful alto voice and found great joy in singing in church choirs over the years. Before retiring, she spent many years as a dedicated and compassionate teacher, touching countless lives with her kindness and wisdom.

Glenda was a woman of grace, elegance, and inner strength. She was physically beautiful—always poised, always dignified—but it was her heart and spirit that truly shined.

Fittingly, Glenda spent her first morning in heaven on Easter Sunday. What a blessing to meet her Savior on the day of His resurrection.

She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed, but her faith-filled legacy and the beauty she brought into this world will live on.

Funeral services will be conducted by Beaty Funeral Home, located at 5320 S State Highway 37, Mineola, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 25th, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, April 26th at 11:00 a.m. in the Beaty Funeral Home chapel, with burial to take place immediately afterward at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
