Glenn Dale Wilcox, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family including his wife, Minnie Ruth and twin sister Glennis, on September 27, 2024, in Mineola, Texas.
Glenn was born on October 5, 1936, in Pickton, Texas, to Forney C. Wilcox and Willie Mae Hitt Wilcox. A lifelong Texan, Glenn was a devoted member of Walnut Street Baptist Church and cherished playing 42 with friends and family. He also served as a former member of the Harmony Cemetery Board, contributing to his community in many ways.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved son Michael Wilcox, his brother Royce Wilcox, and his sisters Letane Lemons, Jean Carder, Dee Matjasic, Allene Davis, and Princess Cope.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty seven years, Minnie Ruth Wilcox; his son Gary Wilcox of Flint, Texas; his son John Wilcox and daughter-in-law Amanda of Bossier City, Louisiana; his daughter Shelley Backer and son-in-law Chris of Mineola, Texas; his daughter Renae Yáñez and son-in-law Aaron of Red River County; and his sisters Glennis Kaczor of Mt. Vernon, Texas, and Dell D’Lizarraga of Sulphur Springs, Texas. Glenn also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, who will miss him dearly.
Glenn's warmth, dedication to his family, and his commitment to his faith and community will be remembered by all who knew him.
